Wealth of Regard

All the More to Love

If wealth is measured by those things

We are privileged to love in life…

Then I have lived as only an heiress…

Only a queen.

For I have loved thousands of colors,

Millions of sounds and every thought

That echoed in my heart.

I have loved mountains and pebbles

Fever and chill,

Wisdom and boredom,

Buildings,

Words,

Flavors,

And Fear.

I have appreciated convenience and irony with equal accord

But perhaps I have revered heart-ache best of all

For my heart only aches for the people I have loved.

They have been many and my heart has held little relief.
